Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented Data/Machine Learning Engineer to join our Data Solutions Engineering Team. In this role, you will engage in the analysis, design, development, and testing of innovative data products. You will collaborate with global, cross-functional teams to meet complex business demands, leveraging your self-motivation, creative problem-solving skills, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Meet Our Team:
AMPS (AI/ML Platform and Solutions) is a dynamic PayPal unit comprised of Machine Learning, Data, and Software Engineers dedicated to innovation. As a Data/Machine Learning Engineer, you will develop sophisticated Data and ML solutions across various PayPal domains including Risk, Fraud, Credit Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, Product Experience, and Global Operations. Our team utilizes advanced data, technology, and machine learning engineering techniques to drive business results and enhance customer experiences. Your contributions will be crucial in delivering cutting-edge products and services at a large scale, fostering innovation within our organization.

Your day to day ​:

As a key member of the AMPS engineering team, you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Define, architect, and manage the full lifecycle of data products.
• Employ creative thinking and innovative approaches to problem-solving.
• Proactively identify potential issues and communicate them effectively to both the team and management.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapting quickly to ambiguous problem statements.
• Deliver high-quality results from initial concepts.

Job Requirements:

What do you need to bring- ​

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Data and ML engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL, ETL, database design, and at least one programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java.
• Expertise in Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, HBase, Kafka.
• Demonstrated experience in utilizing cloud platforms like Google Cloud, Azure, or AWS for architecting and deploying scalable data solutions.
• Familiarity with data movement techniques and best practices for managing large data volumes.
• Understanding of Scheduling Tools (a plus).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to taking on new responsibilities and challenges.
