We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

What you need to know about the role-

We are looking for bright engineers to challenge the status quo and come up with innovative solution to solve problems at scale. This role is specifically for a seasoned engineer to understand the problem, brainstorm with the team and come up with solution and deliver on time.

Meet our team

We build and manage the infrastructure and services that are essential to drive movement of data between multiple data source/sinks. We set ourselves on building a next gen data movement platform that moves data real time and at scale with strict adherence to SLA in addition to strict governance and security posture. The data we move is at the heart of multiple products that drive the customer experience interacting with PayPal products and services (that generates revenue). This provides new challenges on data integrity, governance and security to name a few

Job Description:

Your way to impact 

With the new platform build out, we are looking to solve the pain points of different data teams within the eco system. The problem ranges from data fragmentation to consolidating multiple bespoke solution into a common platform that can scale and cater to every engineer in the eco-system. With bigquery as the designated data solution across PayPal, consolidating existing data pipelines into BQ in real time with no hindrance to business presents ourselves the bigger challenge and solving them will have an immense impact across the company. 

Your day to day 

• Design and develop solutions to solve technical problems
• Work with lead engineers and architects and work on the solution
• Collaborate within as well as outside the teams making sure we keep moving the neeedle
• Help fix problems with the systems that the team owns.
• Make sure our team has healthy engineering though process with keen focus on the quality.

What do you need to bring- 

• Strong engineering background with proven record of building systems at scale.
• Strong programming skills in a JAVA and related technologies; Springboot/Spring batch to name a few
• Strong experience with various data store technologies (SQL/NoSQL/DW)
• Can do attitude. If something is broken, fix it mentality, with long term consideration.
