Senior Backend Engineer - Python

In your day-to-day as a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

• Be a strong advocate for technical standards, engineering best practices, and quality across PayPal, Inc. 

• Contributes to engineering efforts on extensive project features, modules, and services. 

• Support end-to-end ownership of software components' design, implementation, and operational excellence.  

• Influence and drive timely, accurate, and complete projects through engagement and participation at the team level. 

• Be a teammate who looks ahead and anticipates the consequences of implementation choices on future development.  

 What do you need to bring as a Senior Software Engineer:

• 3+ years of experience with Python or equivalent high-level programming language. 

• Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL data stores, caching solutions, and messaging/queuing protocols/systems such as SQS/Kafka/RabbitMQ/Pul

• Strong skills in designing and developing scalable backend systems.

• Familiarity with DevOps principles and experience with cloud platforms.

• Practical communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

• Have a test-driven mindset.

Language requirement:

• Proficient (B2: Upper-Intermediate) in both written and spoken English.
