What you need to know about the role:
This role is of a Product Data Scientist will be on the Onboarding Analytics team supporting the Consumer Onboarding and Early Life Engagement Team. You will partner with Product & Engineering to enable data driven decision making to boost PayPal’s new user growth.

Meet our team:
The Consumer Onboarding & Early life engagement team is responsible for new user signup and early life journey of the consumer with the mission to fuel the next chapter of PayPal’s new user growth. Additionally, the team is also responsible for the initial journey of the customer and the overall improvement of engagement across PayPal’s products. You will contribute directly by generating insights & recommendations to improve new user conversion and improving product usage.

As a Product Data Scientist, you'll play a pivotal role in analysing and optimizing the onboarding/signup flow, identifying friction points, and generating actionable insights to enhance user conversion. You'll also focus on improving the initial journey and overall engagement across PayPal’s diverse product offerings, including secure money transfers, debit and credit cards, and cryptocurrency. With over 400 million users already using PayPal’s products, your work will be crucial in unlocking new growth opportunities and ensuring continued success for millions of users globally.

Your day to day

• Partner closely with Product Managers to understand new product offerings being built and recommend the right metrics to measure the performance of those features that improve new user growth & early life success.

• Conduct rigorous explorative data analysis, hypothesis testing and build business cases that drive decision making and business prioritization.

• Design and conduct analysis on AB Tests that inform of feature performance across signup flows and early life.

• Analyse consumer signup flows & feature interaction, to identify opportunities and generate insights on improving flow conversions and product usage.

• Partner with BI & Engineering teams to create comprehensive dashboard that enable KPI tracking informing on product health.

What do you need to bring-

• Strong SQL skills and visualization skills with a lot of attention to granular details in data

• Strong product sense, the ability to analyse funnels, key business trends and understand impacts of drivers on funnel conversion and feature usage.

• Ability to package the insights into easily consumable presentations and documents.

• Ability to independently design, conduct and analyse AB Tests & experimentation.

• Expertise on creating and automating dashboards on Tableau, Amplitude etc.

• Understanding of the basics of Probability & Statistics
