MTS 1, Software Engineer

What you need to know about the role: The Lighthouse Analytics team is seeking Strong Senior Engineers to work in a fast paced environment alongside a team of engineers passionate in building scalable platforms. Meet Our Team: About Lighthouse Analytics – Our Platform provide tools and services to collect, process and analyze data to generate actionable insights. This platform is used by PayPal and its adjacencies. We collect about 100Billion + events on a daily basis and growing exponentially. The tech stack used includes Big Data/ Java/ Node/JavaScript /React based applications as well as Java based services, kafka, elastic, hadoop/spark/hive and others. The criticality of decisions made based on this data is paramount. Hence making sure of integrity, availability, adhering to SLA is critical as well.

Your day to day: 

• Write clean and solid code that scales over millions of customers 
• Develop elegant restful solutions to complex identity problems 
• As an engineer in the team, make key technical decisions to develop and deliver software solutions. 
• Effectively drive cross-team solutions all the way to development, working closely with product management, QA and documentation. 
• Be a mentor, technical leader and thought leader for a talented team of both front end, back end and data engineers, challenging them and helping them grow. 
• Bring innovation to the table that helps in improving the resiliency of products you are responsible for, sell your ideas and be part of the change. 

What you need to bring: 

• Experience and proven experience in designing, implementing and maintaining high performance, high availability, large-scale platforms and applications. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to grasp and convey complex product requirements or technical concepts. 
• 8+ years of solid hands-on software development and engineering experience. 
• Big Data expertise preferred along with Microservices experience
• Ability to work in a fast paced, agile development environment. 

Your way to impact: 

• Experience technically leading highly effective engineering teams,
• Solid problem-solving background with knowledge of algorithms and design patterns. 
• Strong knowledge of Java, web services (REST/JSON) and Big Data. 
• Working knowledge of JavaScript/Node/React. 
• Good Knowledge of Big Query and GCP ecosystem
