You will lead the Partner Onboarding team, helping grow PayPal business by ensuring that a merchant can use multiple payment products, whether online, in-store or any other payment method. Your day to day :

• Build, manage, mentor, and coach a team of highly skilled Software Engineers

• You get just as excited seeing others grow and learn under your leadership as you do by executing the work yourself

• You seek to improve standard practices and cultivate a culture of excellence

• Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team.

• Work closely with the engineers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach.

• Report on the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to management.

• Strategize for the long-term vision collaborating with Architect, product, to bring in the best recommendations backed with data to influence management to take the right long-term decisions

• Promote a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and innovative solutions within the organization.

•  Lead a team that is working on multiple modules in parallel. Guide the team members in mapping the business requirements to technical capabilities

• Review effective designs for complex problems using system design concepts.

• Own planning of application changes, new release features, performance optimizations, etc.

• Create and maintain the application standards, coding best practices, involved in code reviews, etc.

What do you need to bring:

• At least 12+ years professional experience and 2+ years of relevant software engineering manager experience being hands-on in scalable applications/systems in Java backend, frontend and related technologies.

• Track record of exceptional people and leadership skills, ability to empower people, uphold accountability and achieve results

• You love fostering career growth and building a strong team culture

• You enjoy working collaboratively with a Product Manager to build and maintain a backlog of work for a team of engineers

• Strong collaborator who can build lasting, productive partnerships with peers, management, and stakeholders

• BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience

• Payment industry experience is a plus
