We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

What you need to know about the role-
We are searching for a Machine Learning Intern with strong analytical skills, a customer champion mentality and a passion for constant learning and problem solving.

Meet our team
The identity and onboarding machine learning team is a technical team, creating machine learning and data science solutions to enhance the user’s experience throughout their lifetime in PayPal, focusing on both fraud detection and prevention to maintain account quality, as well as providing smother experience for good customers.
We are part of PayPal’s Global Analytics and Data Science organization (GADS), the largest hub of data scientists in PayPal, building solutions for all aspects of PayPal’s business- fraud, marketing, credit, sales, etc.
As a machine learning intern in GADS you will interact with a large group of other machine learning scientists to build scalable and innovative data solutions for various domains, supporting multiple business units.

Your way to impact 

As a Machine Learning Scientist in PayPal’s GADS organization, you will have an impact on PayPal’s Consumer products all around the world. Our data scientists work to better understand our end-users, identify opportunities and improve our products by creating customized and sophisticated user experiences. Making use of PayPal’s endless amounts of data, you will leverage your analytic and machine learning skills, for research and delivery of end-to-end Data Science solutions.

Your day to day 

In your day to day role you will:

• Conduct independent research, utilizing business and technological knowledge, while supporting existing projects.
• Build new machine learning and data science products based on various data sources, allowing other business partners and data analysis teams to incorporate your insights in multiple business domains.
• Optimize existing products to enhance customer overall experience throughout the user’s journey with PayPal.
• Collaborate with our big data engineers, design tailor-made solutions, and support all stages of development and deployment.

What do you need to bring- 

• Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.)
• Currently being enrolled in a Master's degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.)
• Good code writing capability in Python and familiarity with relevant ML packages.
• Strong analytical skills and familiarity with query languages.
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Team worker, responsible, delivery-oriented, customer champion
