Job Description Summary:

We are seeking a talented Engineer to join our AI/ML Platform and Solutions organization. In this role, you will be part of building PayPal AI platform in cloud for Recommendation models at scale, enabling real-time feature processing, with vector & graph stores, while optimizing performance & compute costs. You will collaborate with global, cross-functional teams from both Business and Technology domains to meet complex business demands.

We are seeking a highly motivated, self-starter Machine Learning Engineer to join our AI/ML Engineering team to help achieve this mission. This role will help shape the next generation of checkout at PayPal impacting over 400+ million consumers and 30+ million merchants worldwide by creating AI/ML foundations and capabilities that deliver a delightful and personalized shopping and checkout experience. 
 
Your day-to-day  

·       Designing and building large-scale distributed systems to support the end-to-end machine learning (ML) lifecycle

·       Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements, deliver innovative solutions, and ensure the availability, reliability, and scalability of ML Platform

·       Facilitate seamless collaboration with cross-functional teams from Business and Technology domains to align project goals, gather requirements, and drive successful project outcomes.

Qualifications:  

·       3-5 Years of experience with a Bachelors degree

·       2-4 Years of experience with a Masters degree

·       The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and ML operations

·       Solid Understanding of  machine learning concepts, algorithms, and techniques, developing and deploying machine learning models.   

·       Expert in multiple Programming/scripting languages, i.e. Unix/Linux Shell Scripting, Python, Java, Scala. 

·       Expertise in Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, HBase, Kafka. 

·       Expertise with NoSQL database like HBase, Redis, Aerospike.  

·       Proven experience with distributed systems, data streaming, complex event Processing, NoSQL solutions for creating and managing data integration pipelines for batch and Real Time data needs.  

·       Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Experience in Azure is a plus 

·       Good understanding of machine learning libraries/frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, etc.

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is

$72700 to $176000
