We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

What you need to know about the role

This role will give you the opportunity to work on several new initiatives involving PayPal Wallets that have high visibility within the Company. The individual selected for this role will have to work in collaboration with Cloud Engineering, Networking, Developer Experience and Observability teams to setup the respective capabilities for our product. The role provides the chance to work with AWS cloud, Harness, Splunk and DataDog tools. This is a high impact role helping the entire org in terms of their SDLC maturity level.

At PayPal, DevOps Engineers play a crucial is enabling the Developers’ productivity by providing them the right Technology platforms to enable faster product development without compromising on quality

Your day-to-day:

As Staff DevOps Engineer, you will: 

• Design, implement, test, deliver, and optimize infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions to manage and configure Network Of Wallets AWS Cloud resources
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate software delivery processes, including building, testing, and deploying services through “cloud-first” patterns and principles.
• Maintain monitoring systems and drive observability best practices to ensure the availability, performance, and security of infrastructure and applications.
• Drive platform security posture by administrating and using security tooling, remediating vulnerabilities, and driving improvements to our security and compliance processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to gather requirements, provide best practice solutions, streamline development and operational workflows, and troubleshoot issues

What do you need to bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field 
• 10+ years of experience  
• Experience in designing highly available, cost-aware cloud infrastructure based on industry standard cloud patterns.
• Proficiency with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of containerization and orchestration services like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with IAM, network security, and IDS/IPS solutions like AWS Network Firewall or similar.
• Experience architecting, administrating, and using CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency with scripting languages like Python or Bash and an object-oriented programming language like Java.
