This is backend developer role requiring good AL/ML understanding. This role will provide an opportunity to work on solving real world problems and gain practical experience in end-to-end Machine Learning life cycle

PayPal AI/ML Platform team is responsible for building the ML platform to help data scientists with the end-to-end model development lifecycle. We build state of the art and innovative ML platform to support key product functions such as Fraud risk, Credit Underwriting, Customer Success, and other domains across PayPal.

At PayPal, Backend Software Engineers are the architects of our global payment platform. You'll design, develop, and optimize core systems that power millions of transactions daily, directly impacting our customers' experiences and our company's success.

Your day to day :

• Design, develop and deploy a highly scalable and efficient ML platform software that enables data scientists to build, deploy, and monitor machine learning solutions end-to-end

• Ensure high code quality, performance, and reliability through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to software development best practices

• Write clean, efficient code adhering to coding standards. 

• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback. 

What do you need to bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field. 

• 5+ years of backend development experience. Strong foundation in programming concepts and data structures

• Strong skills in back-end development using Java EE technologies (Java, application servers, servlet containers, JMS, JPA, Spring MVC, Hibernate).

• Strong OOP skills, with ability to analyse requirements and transform into scalable software designs.

• Experience with REST API's and competent designing and building web services/microservices in a commercial setting.

• Cognizant of SQL and other/NoSQL/modern database

• Competent in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability and performance.

• Competent in software engineering tools (e.g. Java build tools) and best practices (e.g. unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, etc.).

• Should be a strong advocate of code craftsmanship, good coding standards and use of tools that will improve the quality of the delivered code

• Demonstrate a high level of curiosity, passion for technology, pride of ownership and strive for excellence

• Experience with using Agile/Scrum methodology for software development
