What you need to know about the role- This role offers a unique opportunity to innovate and improve PayPal’s fraud prevention and detection technologies. Meet our team PayPal's GFCCP Fraud Risk team is responsible for partnering with global business units to manage a variety of risks. This is an exciting department that plays an important role to ensure safe payment, secure global business growth, and deliver the best customer experience. This role is within the Fraud Risk seller strategy team focusing on fraud prevention through data-driven decision and cutting-edge technology for PayPal Seller Risk.

We are seeking a highly motivated team player with strong analytical skills who specializes in creating, driving, and executing projects.  

Your day to day –

  • Design, develop and implement data-driven fraud risk strategy and framework for PayPal seller risk.
  • High proficiency in technical / data-mining skills and working knowledge of dealing with large volumes of data using tools such as SQL, Python, SAS, Hadoop, or other programming/scripting languages (Perl, R, etc.).
  • Work on assignments of intermediate complexity with moderate supervision, and constantly seek improvement within defined tasks.
  • Good understanding of general business trends and directions to be able to put own work in a broad business context.
  • Drive effective communication with collaborators to achieve the optimal level of decisioning and business results.

What do you need to bring-

  • Master’s degree in related field and 3+ years related professional work experience
  • Understanding of PayPal’s products and e-commerce risk patterns
  • Well-developed research and analytical skills with good problem solving and lateral thinking ability
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Python, SAS, Hadoop, or other programming languages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate concepts and ideas to diverse audiences.
