We also help merchants connect with their customers, process exchanges and returns, and manage risk. We enable consumers to engage in cross-border shopping and merchants to extend their global reach while reducing the complexity and friction involved in enabling cross-border trade.

Job Description Summary:

What you need to know about the role-
The ‘Finance Technology and Insights’ function requires Data Engineering, ETL Development & Business Intelligence experience (with some Business Analyst acumen) to deliver compelling Data Engineering solutions to the People Analytics and HR leadership of PayPal.

This role is key to success of both HR and Finance customers for workforce planning and cost management.

Job Description:

This role has unique exposure to Data engineering and Analytics, candidate would be part of many initiatives which derives culture in PayPal. It will be directly helping PayPal leadership and HR leadership to shape the work culture, help management in decision making and build efficient HR data solutions.

Your day to day

As a Data and BI Engineer, you will be required to drive projects and solutions from start to finish which includes developing and maintaining data processing ETL, creating data pipeline from source system and database objects. Having a strong sense of accountability coupled with a passion for delivering crisp data insights and the ability to tell stories through data are essential.

What do you need to bring-

• Candidate must have 4+ years development experience with SQL, ETL Tools, Database engineering and data modelling. 

• Ability to write complicated yet efficient SQL and stored procedures along with strong database knowledge. Knowledge of Python, Java, or programming skills.

• Knowledge of Database architecture and design (i.e. Oracle, GCP BQ, SQL Server, etc.).

• Building required infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from various data sources using ETL tools i.e. Informatica, Boomi and scheduler tools as well like UC4, Airflow.

• Ability to tune data loads, data models, and front-end design for efficient performance.

• Hands on experience of version control (Git) preferred. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical development teams. Product management is a nice to have supplementary skill.
