Paxos Labs builds enterprise infrastructure for trusted onchain financial products. We work with major financial platforms to build transparent and verifiable onchain infrastructure that brings digital assets and DeFi into mainstream use.

About the role

You'll be focused on building Transit, our liquidity orchestration and distribution network for tokenized assets.

Tokenization is producing thousands of onchain assets: stablecoins, tokenized money market funds, commodities, equities, private credit. Every issuer hits the same wall on day one. Their asset is inert until it trades cleanly against onchain liquidity, and unreachable until it's wired into wallets, swap interfaces, aggregators, and lending venues. Today they solve that by renting liquidity from market makers at a 20%+ cost of capital and negotiating their way into venues one at a time.

Transit is the network they join instead. An issuer lists their asset and gets the most efficient route in and out of it, day-one distribution into everywhere we're already integrated, and a programmatic share of the revenue generated every time their asset moves.

Underneath that promise is a hard systems problem.

Transit today consists of two parts, a highly-performant crosschain exchange and an enterprise RFQ.

The exchange operates an orderbook that aggregates gasless crosschain orders and matches maker/taker liquidity while guaranteeing solvency and user protection.

The RFQ is a real time orchestration engine that aggregates DEX and solver liquidity before execution at any size, manages LP liquidity, enforces compliance, and provides predictable pricing for enterprise clients.

We are looking for talented engineers who further advance Transit’s technical roadmap and execute on it.

What you'll do

• Research, design, and build the core services behind Transit's RFQ orchestration engine: pricing, quoting, routing, inventory management, and settlement across chains and venues.

• Research, design, and build the core services behind Transit’s exchange orderbook: the matching engine, pricing rules, order APIs, onchain settlement.

• Own systems end to end, from design through deployment, monitoring, and the on-call reality of moving real money.

• Build rate-aware pricing and inventory controls for assets whose price moves.

• Integrate new chains, venues, solver networks, and liquidity sources, and make the next integration cheaper than the last.

• Build the execution attribution and economics layer that makes integrator revenue share programmatic.

• Work directly with the onchain surface: the contracts, mint and redeem facilities, and compliance enforcement Transit routes through.

• Set technical direction on a small team where individual decisions carry a lot of weight, and raise the engineering bar through review and mentorship.

What we're looking for

Experience

Required

• 6+ years building and operating production backend systems, with true ownership of something that had to stay up.

• Track record of building systems 0 to 1 and then hardening them, rather than only maintaining mature ones.

• Experience with systems where correctness is financial: exchange infrastructure, trading, settlement, or similar.

Nice to have

• Experience at a market maker, exchange, or trading firm.

• Multi-chain infrastructure experience, especially inventory or treasury management across chains.

• Prior work on tokenized assets, stablecoins, or RWAs.

Knowledge

Required

• Understanding of traditional exchange market structure such as CLOBs, batch auctions, RFQs, or similar. Across economic, incentive, and technical design.

Nice to have

• Understanding of onchain market structure: AMMs, solver networks, DEX aggregators, bridges, etc.

• Reading Solidity and reasoning about contract interactions, even if you don't write smart contracts.

• Judgment about latency, inventory risk, and execution quality, and the ability to explain a pricing decision to someone on the commercial side.

We're a small team, roughly 15 people, which means engineers here own whole systems rather than slices of them and ship to production within weeks of joining. The problems are unusually hard for a company this size, because our customers are institutions and the correctness bar is the one finance holds, not the one crypto often settles for.
