Senior Backend Developer (BCN)

Job description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Developer (f/m/x) who takes pride in writing high-quality code, enjoys learning and sharing knowledge, and delivers reliable solutions on time.

You will join an international, cross-functional team of experienced software engineers and ML researchers based in Barcelona and Vienna. Together, we build the next generation of award-winning products powered by the latest AI and agentic approaches.

Our team embraces the newest advances in AI-assisted coding to increase speed and productivity – while maintaining high standards for clean architecture, testing, and production-grade code.

Your Tasks:

• Develop and maintain dockerized Python-based web services.

• Collaborate with the system architect to evolve and improve our overall architecture.

• Own features end-to-end and drive their implementation to ensure on-time delivery.

• Design, build, and maintain well-tested web APIs following modern best practices.

• Support researchers and ML engineers in integrating our latest AI technologies into production systems.

Your Profile:

• At least 5 years of experience building and delivering backend applications and services (e.g., RESTful APIs).

• Strong professional experience with Python, including writing clean, “Pythonic” code and applying best practices in production systems.

• Solid understanding of software design principles for distributed systems.

• Good communication skills in English (Spanish or German are a plus).

• Ability to work effectively in an agile, multinational, and cross-functional environment.

• Keen to embrace the newest advances in AI-assisted coding.

Salary:

We offer a salary range of €60,000–€75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
