About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and talented Embedded Software Engineering Intern to join our team for a challenging and rewarding internship opportunity. This role offers the chance to work on diverse projects in the defense and aerospace sector, contributing to the development of embedded software solutions that power critical systems.

The internship position is required to work out of our Columbia, MD office. This will be a 12-week paid internship during the summer of 2025 beginning on Monday, May 19th and concluding on Friday, August 8th.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test embedded software solutions for defense and aerospace applications.
• Assist in the implementation and optimization of software algorithms for real-time performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and best practices.
• Support the integration of software with hardware components and systems, ensuring seamless operation and compatibility.
• Conduct testing and debugging of embedded software to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Document software design, development processes, and test procedures for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends related to embedded systems and software engineering.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming languages with a solid understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Familiarity with embedded systems development, including microcontrollers, ARM processors, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Knowledge of software development tools and environments, such as IDEs, debuggers, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly and concisely.
• Prior experience with software development projects, internships, or relevant coursework is a plus.
• Passion for technology and a keen interest in the defense and aerospace industry.
