Senior Java Engineer, Solutions (Payments)

We are looking for a passionate, results-oriented, and ready-to-learn engineer to develop superior product solutions within our fast-growing business.

You’ll join one of PandaDoc’s engineering tracks, Revenue Solutions, and specifically, our Payments team.

The Payments team designs and delivers complete end-to-end solutions for our customers to handle the payments of their customers. Payment gateways, subscription management, installments, invoices, and payments management, are amongst the many challenges of this team.

Our main goal is to bring new revenue by increasing the volume of payments made through PandaDoc. In our Track, we care about our customers and we strive to help them succeed in their business.

In this role, you will:

• Participate in the whole development process: backlog refinement, coding, testing, and releasing product features
• Work in a cross-functional team of 4-5 engineers and collaborate with designers, product managers, engineering managers, and other teams to understand product vision and deliver features
• Build, maintain and improve the application architecture and performance
• Actively collaborate with product managers and scrum masters
• Follow and contribute to agile development processes (LeSS framework)

Our stack:

• Service-oriented architecture
• Two main stacks: Java and Python
• Java services based on Spring Boot with custom extensions, Java 17, and Gradle as a build tool
• AWS
• Docker, Kubernetes
• The main cross-service communication transports are NATS, Kafka, and RabbitMQ
• PostgreSQL, Redis
• Grafana observability stack for monitoring and alerting

About you:

• 4+ years of development experience with Java
• Strong understanding of Spring
• Comfortable with relational database concepts
• Experience in microservice architectures
• Passionate for new technologies and ready to implement strategic initiatives to help the team reach its goals
• Enjoy working with a stack agnostic approach
• Communicate effectively in English, both spoken and written
