Job Summary

Job Summary
The Managing Director for Unit 42 is responsible for leading our consulting practice for Canada. This role is active in daily delivery and functional management, while also setting the strategic direction of the practice, building the business, and serving as a strategic advisor to our customers. The position requires deep cybersecurity expertise and business savvy to ensure customer success and scale a profitable business. You will be our clients’ trusted partner for high-stakes incident response, advocate for cybersecurity risk management, and provide strategic and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for the Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR) and Proactive Cyber Risk practices to achieve long-term objectives.

  • Partner with Sales and GTM teams to drive new business growth, prepare winning proposals, and manage the practice to achieve revenue targets.

  • Cultivate and maintain long-term, C-level client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and advocate for their cybersecurity needs.

  • Recruit, manage, and develop a world-class team of consultants, fostering a culture of excellence and ensuring high team productivity and utilization.

  • Ensure the consistent quality and delivery of all services, identifying and executing strategies for process improvement and service enablement.

  • Provide hands-on, expert-level consulting services, from proactive assessments to incident response, and deliver findings effectively to executive leadership.

  • Amplify Unit 42’s market presence through speaking engagements, publications, and media exposure, integrating threat intelligence into all services.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 12 years of experience, or a PhD with 8 years of experience in a related field.

  • Extensive experience leading a cybersecurity advisory practice, including P&L management, business development, and building client relationships.

  • Demonstrated experience as a senior-level team leader, with a track record of establishing a security vision, strategy, and program.

  • Technical proficiency in a wide range of cybersecurity services, including digital forensics, incident response (DFIR), and proactive risk assessments.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills with verifiable experience presenting to CxO and Board of Directors level.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree such as an MS, MBA, or Juris Doctorate (JD).

  • Cybersecurity industry certifications such as CISSP and/or CISM.

  • Established presence as a thought leader in the cybersecurity community (e.g., public speaking, publications).

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
