We are currently seeking a Junior Project Manager to join our Concrete Division in Kamloops, BC. This role is ideal for someone with strong project coordination experience who is ready to take the next step in their career and grow into a full Project Manager role.

Role Overview

As a Junior Project Manager, you will work closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents to support and lead aspects of commercial, mixed-use, and multi-family construction projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience in all areas of project management, from budgeting and scheduling to client relations and quality control, while being mentored and prepared to take on full project ownership in the future.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with plan/specification analysis to provide coordinated interpretations of design documents.

  • Research and recommend solutions to design conflicts or errors/omissions.

  • Liaise with subcontractors regarding drawings, pricing, site instructions, and change notices.

  • Review, interpret, and communicate contract requirements and risks to project teams.

  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotes for bid submissions.

  • Order and track site formwork inventory.

  • Maintain project documentation, filing systems, and standardized procedures.

  • Support project managers with billings, forecasts, contracts, and budgets.

  • Track and execute shop drawings, RFIs, SIs, CNs, PCNs/CCOs, and work orders.

  • Participate in weekly coordination meetings and company safety programs.

  • Monitor fieldwork to ensure compliance with standards, safety, and specifications.

  • Prepare close-out documents, including warranties.

  • Conduct quality control activities and review deficiency lists.

  • Perform additional assignments as required.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, digital).

  • Knowledge of construction methods, building materials, standards, and project management processes.

  • Proficiency in Excel, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Understanding of project scheduling, WBS, critical path, and scheduling software.

  • Ability to interpret blueprints, contracts, construction legislation, and specifications.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work respectfully with diverse teams.

  • Professionalism in representing the company with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.

  • Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn and grow.


Working Conditions

  • Based full-time on site in Kamloops, BC with travel to nearby project sites as required.

  • Preference will be given to candidates local to Kamloops or those willing to relocate/travel.

  • Steel-toe boots required on-site.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required.

  • Travel up to 10% (may include interprovincial travel).

  • Extensive computer use; prolonged sitting.

  • Business casual attire (jeans permitted).


Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Engineering Technology Diploma preferred.

  • PMP, CET, or similar certification is an asset.

  • 3–5 years of project coordination experience in commercial, mixed-use, or multi-family construction.

  • Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in progressing to a Project Manager role.
