Description

Owl Labs is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our Perception Team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting edge technologies that power our smart video collaboration devices,  enabling hybrid teams to connect effectively. You’ll work alongside a talented team of engineers dedicated to building systems that see, understand, and respond to dynamic environments. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Here are some examples of what you’d work on during your internship:

  • Assist in designing, developing, and optimizing novel perception algorithms.
  • Contribute to the testing and deployment of software on our fleet of smart video conferencing devices.
  • Write clear and comprehensive documentation for the systems you help build.
  • Participate in code reviews and team brainstorming sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS

For this role, we are looking for someone with prior academic, internship, or co-op experience(s) in software engineering. We know everyone will have different backgrounds, so here are some examples of previous experiences that would help you excel in this role:

  • Academic coursework or project experience in robotics, computer vision, or software engineering.
  • Familiarity with programming in C++ and an interest in Linux development.
  • Exposure to concepts like SLAM, sensor fusion, machine learning, or computer vision frameworks (e.g., OpenCV, TensorFlow).
  • A curious mindset and a passion for solving challenging technical problems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Owl Labs is a hybrid company with over 40% of our team working remotely. Our main office is located in Boston, Massachusetts. Our intern program requires you to be physically present at our office for two days each week.
