About the role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic ML Engineer Intern to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that apply machine learning techniques to biomedical data. You will collaborate with experienced researchers and engineers to solve real-world problems.

 

In particular, you will:

At a high level:

  • Assist in the development, optimisation, and productisation of research code for biomedical applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, in particular research engineers and data scientists, to integrate ML models into existing workflows and systems.

Example tasks:

  • Refactor and modularise research code into a production-oriented pipeline.
  • Build a Python GitHub app to enforce good practices in pull requests and internal packages.
  • Optimise existing pipeline to make better use of compute resources.
  • Participate in team meetings, contribute ideas, and present findings.
  • Document research processes and results for future reference.

 

Position is based in our Paris office.

 

About you

Required qualifications / experience:

  • Currently finishing a degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Python, experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or scikit-learn.
  • Experience coding in a production setting, applying coding good practices (e.g., unit tests) and packaging your code (e.g., PyPI, Docker).
  • Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and principles.
  • Familiarity with data preprocessing techniques and tools.
  • Contributions to open-source projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Prior experience with biomedical data or healthcare applications is a plus.
