Senior Director, HW Engineering

We are looking for a Senior Director responsible for driving the HW product development team in Oulu. This is a business critical role in building the capabilities for the future growth of HW R&D working with multiple stakeholders from early research, innovation up to product delivery. Your role is to lead Oulu Finland HW Engineering and collaborate with your HW teammates and other stakeholders in Finland and the US.

What You will do:

• Contribute to product roadmap and tactics aligned with the company strategy as key members of the extended leadership team.
• Cultivate and lead the dynamic and high-performing HW team that embodies operational excellence, ownerships and thrives on solving complex problems through innovative approaches.
• Create an environment that encourages experimentation and the exploration of new technologies.
• Ensure the hardware engineering team follows best practices, development standards, and compliance requirements.
• Provide technical leadership to solve complex hardware engineering challenges.
• Oversee the development and performance of the engineering teams, ensuring continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Work closely with other departments, such as embedded engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, science, to align engineering activities with overall business objectives.

We would love to have You on your team if you have:

• Extensive experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex consumer hardware products from idea to production.
• Proven ability to drive technical innovation and adapt to emerging technologies.
• Strong understanding of hardware development processes, methodologies, tools, manufacturing processes and best practices.
• Proven experience in leading and managing large hardware engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams with hybrid and international teams.
