Senior Data Scientist (Supply Chain)

We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist to contribute towards building a best-in-class Supply Chain organization by leveraging Oura’s data and AI capabilities. This role will work closely with our Supply Chain team to analyze and optimize supply chain processes, improve demand forecasting, and enhance inventory management. Your data solutions will help drive efficiency, cost savings, and resilience in our global supply network.

You will play a key role in shaping our data and AI strategy for supply chain analytics, collaborating with teams across supply chain, hardware, finance, and testing. This role requires a strong data engineering focus initially: data ingestion, pipelining, transformation, and analysis skills, with the focus eventually evolving into more advanced ML and AI development opportunities in areas like predictive demand forecasting and supply risk modeling.

What You Will Do

• Supply Chain Analytics & Optimization: Analyze logistics, supplier performance, and inventory data to identify inefficiencies and improve supply chain resilience.
• Sustainability & Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and optimize costs across the supply network.
• Procurement & Supplier Performance Insights: Evaluate supplier lead times, pricing trends, and reliability to improve sourcing strategies.
• Logistics & Distribution Analytics: Optimize shipping routes, warehouse operations, and last-mile delivery performance using data-driven insights.
• Data Engineering & Pipeline Development: Build and maintain robust ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and analyze supply chain data.
• Dashboarding & Real-Time Monitoring: Develop real-time dashboards to track key supply chain metrics, detect bottlenecks, and support decision-making.
• Risk Management & Scenario Planning: Create models to assess supply chain disruptions, geopolitical risks, and demand variability for proactive decision-making.
• Demand Forecasting & Inventory Planning: Develop and refine forecasting models to predict demand fluctuations, optimize stock levels, and minimize supply disruptions.

This is a US Hybrid role based in San Francisco, CA. Candidates should be able to work onsite in our San Francisco office 2-3 days per week.

We would love to have you on our team if you have:

• 6+ years of experience working in a data science and/or supply chain analytics role
• Expert-level SQL skills and experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis, forecasting models, and optimization algorithms
• Experience with time series forecasting, optimization models, statistical analysis, and running simulations
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency with analytics/ML/AI solutions
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create dashboards and track key supply chain metrics
• Familiarity with supply chain management (SCM) platforms, ERP systems, or logistics tools
• Strong business acumen with exposure to sales & operations planning (S&OP)
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects and work with multiple cross-functional stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical teams
• Experience working with international and distributed teams
