The Fusion Applications Cloud Services team is building a next generation cloud platform that supports the most fast paced mission-critical customer requirements, operating at global scale to provide a secure, distributed, multi-tenant cloud environments for Fusion and other Oracle applications.

This is your opportunity to be a core part of the team that defines and delivers exciting new capabilities for Oracle’s flagship Fusion Applications Cloud Services space. We are seeking a candidate with strong software development and/or system engineering experience in platform level products or services.

In this role as a Data Engineer, you will lead the identification, analysis, and design of highly complex new and existing systems by analyzing data, conferring with subject matter experts to define requirements and objectives, and evaluating the feasibility of proposed new solutions. You will appraise the practicability of enhancements to existing systems and proposed new systems, and recommends solutions. This position is responsible for making technical decisions in systems architecture, including development and maintenance processes.

You will lead and coordinate efforts between cross-functional teams to develop best-in-class capabilities for the service. You will be expected to assess appropriate trade-offs to optimize customer experience, time-to-market, and to clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal stakeholders and remote teams. 

The right candidate will possess a strong technical background in Oracle Cloud Technology and Services, an ability to design and implement technical architecture based on business requirements and technical strategies.

You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.   As such, we are looking for a candidate that possesses a(n):

• Experience in Python development and Data Engineering for Data Science/AI/ML implementations (3 yrs of experience)
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining optimal, scalable data pipelines for analytics and model training
• Expertise in ETL, cataloging, curating and analyzing large, complex and disparate data sets
• Good understanding of Cloud Native technologies
• Unique talent to influence and analyze complex product technical solutions 
• Proven business acumen to apply effective business judgment
• Customer-centric approach

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc as a Data Engineer. As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 3+ years of software engineering or related experience.
