The Oracle NoSQL Database development team delivers an industry leading horizontally scalable, shared nothing, distributed cloud database.  Use your deep skills in distributed systems, database internals, and high-performance computing to work on one of the premier industrial strength NoSQL Databases in the market today.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience working on Linux/UNIX systems.
• A strong background in performance engineering.
• Deep understanding of Java and the JVM. Knowledge of Java GC tuning is a plus.
• A complete understanding of the software development life cycle and various performance engineering concepts like caching, locking, asynchronous versus concurrent programming, and scalability.
• Strong knowledge and experience with profiling the end-to-end performance of large-scale systems and identifying bottlenecks
• Demonstrated ability to establish guiding principles for the characterization and analysis of system performance for a large-scale distributed system
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a geographically distributed team
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with complex distributed systems and parallel distributed algorithms.
• String knowledge of Java, C++, or C.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem analysis skills.
• Experience working in large scale cloud environments.
• MS or PHD in computer science or equivalent experience.

Highly Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of database internals such as concurrent B-tree access methods, transactions, recovery, an query processing.
• Knowledge of log structured storage systems.
• Knowledge of software design for high availability and resiliency.
