Senior Software Developer

Oracle NetSuite has an Engineering & Development team that is responsible for driving the standards, software, and automation that power the operational support of NetSuite's Acquired Services. We apply a software engineering attitude to infrastructure and administration problems. We manage this environment by implementing tools and processes that automate complex tasks that have traditionally been done manually by operations staff, solving them at scale, streamlining the operational process, and eliminating the chance of human error.

In this position you will work closely with other engineers and developers to identify and implement cutting edge technology to power our support teams, partner with Ops staff to proactively solve problems before they impact production, collaborate with product owners to gather requirements and design solutions, and dive into new technology stacks to introduce new standards conforming to industry trends and leading headwinds.

This is an Senior Engineering position, and we are looking for an outstanding individual to join us in this role and extend our existing tools into new areas within the company and into the cloud. If you are this type of person, we would be excited to speak with you!

Responsibilities:

• Select and/or design new solutions to enhance technology standards
• Act as project lead for the design and implementation phase
• Evaluate software and tools against known issues and requirements
• Present findings to the entire team, support your recommendations
• Write implementation documentation, playbooks, etc.
• Act as subject matter expert on areas where you have technical expertise
• Provide internal training to the larger team, mentor junior staff
• Participate in internal software development to build new tools
• Work with Ops staff to improve their processes

Required Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 1+ years' experience working in a cloud environment
• 1+ years' experience designing complex infrastructure systems
• Strong Linux background
• Desire to learn and have fun

Required to have 1+ years' experience in at least 3 areas from the list below:

• Experience managing services in cloud providers (Oracle Cloud preferred)
• Experience with monitoring solutions (Prometheus, Zabbix, Icinga, etc.)
• Experience with log aggregation (ELK, Splunk, etc.)
• Experience with system administration in a distributed Linux environment
• Experience with orchestration and containers (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
• Experience with configuration management (SaltStack, Puppet, etc.)
• Experience with IaC (Terraform, OpenTofu, Ansible, etc.)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Bamboo, TeamCity, etc.)
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
• Experience with object-oriented software development (Python preferred)
• Experience with automation and scripting (Python, shell, Rundeck, etc.)
