Senior Software Developer (Database/ Java)

The successful candidate will be joining an existing dynamic development team based in European Development Centre in Dublin.

Join Oracle's Translation Services team in Dublin! Our global team of engineers and linguists is known for its innovation and expertise in delivering world-leading enterprise translation infrastructure and services. This infrastructure powers the simultaneous release of Oracle Services and content across a broad range of languages.

You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge translation services and contribute to Oracle's Machine Translation Cloud Service offering, which is enabling both Oracle internal user community and Oracle’s extensive Enterprise Global customer base.

Although not definitive, the ideal candidate will typically have the following: 

• Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent degree. 
• A minimum of 7 years’ experience in a software engineering role
• Expert knowledge of Oracle Database Design/Management/Tuning 
• Expert knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and JDBC
• Expert knowledge of Java programming and web technologies
• Strong understanding of UNIX / Linux operating systems
• Proven experience developing, delivering Cloud base solutions. 

The ideal candidate would also have experience with the following:

• Oracle Technology stack
• Containers (Docker, Podman) and orchestration (K8S)
• Python 

• Self driven and self motivated
• Critical thinking and decision making skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills 
• Confident presenter of concepts / ideas / solutions
• The ability to influence with well developed persuasive arguments
• An ability to work under pressure and meet deadline requirements complimenting a proactive and flexible approach with a resilient and results - orientated nature
• Possessing exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
