QA Engineer

Responsibilities:
We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our team, as a member of the Upgrade QA engineering area, you will: 

• Apply intermediate to advance knowledge of software testing to perform software 
  development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or 
  operating systems according to provided design specifications.
• Build enhancements within an existing testing architecture/framework and suggest 
  improvements to the infrastructure.
• Design, develop and implement testing plans same as troubleshoot  and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, 
  networks etc 
• Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in 
  understanding and applying company policies and processes.
• Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and
  procedures

What you work on:
- Review Oracle Database features
- Design, execute and automate test cases for our AutoUpgrade and AutoPatch products and features

- Build enhancements within an existing software testing architecture and suggest improvements.
- Perform, Document and Share exploratory testing findings.
- Work with product development to implement product improvements
 
Who you are:
- You are proficient in SQL, and Oracle Database features.
- You have hands-on experience with test automation tools. (Selenium, Robot, JMeter or 
similar)
- You have hands-on programming experience in Java.
- You are able to read, review any application code to understand the logic.
- You have upstanding critical thinking skills.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in Manual/Automated software testing.
Deep understanding of relational database technology, with knowledge of Oracle RDBMS internals a significant plus 

Development experience with any or all of : PL/SQL,Java & Perl.
Scripting language experience (Perl, Bash, Python, etc... ) 

BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience XML/XSL documents and style sheets understanding Good 
communication, organizational and interpersonal skills 

Ability to deliver effectively in a team setting as well as independently 

Understanding of Unix-like operating systems

The Database Upgrade group develops, implements, and supports Oracle's database upgrade infrastructure & technology used across the globe by millions of customers and service providers.
