Principal Data Systems Software Engineer

Location: BENGALURU, KARNATAKA, India

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated software engineer to build and enhance cloud platform services for Database Cloud offerings. The ideal candidate will have strong experience developing cloud control plane services, deep Oracle Database expertise, and excellent software engineering skills in Java. This role requires a technical leader who can design scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-native services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud control plane services for Database Cloud offerings.
• Build scalable, highly available, and secure cloud-native applications.
• Design and implement APIs, service orchestration, provisioning, lifecycle management, and monitoring capabilities.
• Leverage deep Oracle Database knowledge to build robust database cloud services.
• Drive technical architecture, code quality, performance optimization, and operational excellence.

• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on complex projects.

   

Required qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with experience in technical leadership or lead engineer roles.
• Strong experience building cloud control plane services 
• Deep understanding of Oracle Database architecture, administration, and database technologies.
• Strong programming expertise in Java, including building scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, REST APIs, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, scalability, security, and reliability engineering.

• Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and system design skills.

   

Preferred qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field from a reputed institution with an excellent academic record.
• Experience developing large-scale cloud platforms or database cloud services.
• Familiarity with observability, automation, and DevOps best practices.
