Assists in the design and development of mechanical systems including components, enclosures, and packaging, aligning with standards for reliability, performance, and manufacturability. Utilizes advanced computer aided design (CAD) tools to support the development of 3D models and designs. Begins to conduct structural analyses and identify failure points. Executes testing and reliability assessments as instructed, ensuring designs meet functional and performance goals while identifying areas for improvement. Documents essential details about processes and materials, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards. ​

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is seeking an IC2 Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, validation, and release of mechanical hardware enclosures for OCI compute, storage, networking, and rack-scale infrastructure. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, supporting mechanical components, sub-assemblies, system integration, prototype builds, manufacturability reviews, and transition into production. The successful candidate will work with mechanical, electrical, thermal, validation, manufacturing, and supplier teams to help deliver robust, serviceable, thermally efficient enclosure designs that support OCI cloud deployments.
