The JAPAC Cloud Engineering Center of Excellence (CE CoE) is a divisional organization across Japan and Asia Pacific whose role is to accelerate consumption of Oracle Cloud Services by providing a world-class customer experience on the Oracle Cloud. Customers will have access to cutting edge and deep technical subject matter expertise and solutions across their technical lifecycle of Incubate to Implement. The primary mission of the CoE teams is to be help customers to move their workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and playing the role their engineering partner.

Role – Cloud Architect for a Top-Tier Global Account

We are seeking a Senior Cloud Architect, having at-least 15-20 years of both business sense and deep technical hands-on expertise in driving technology transformation initiatives with large and strategic organizations. You have great communication skills and can interact at all levels (CIO, CTO, Product Engineering, IT Architects, and developers). The job requires you to engage cross-functional teams in highly matrixed environments to drive customer adoption of OCI. You will be accountable and empowered to drive building innovative experiences in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. Success is measured providing the field and customers with world class technical subject matter expertise and drive the following outcomes

Responsibilities 

Requirements – Functional

  • Sets overall strategy for Cloud in the account working with x-LOB architects in the account and its subsidiaries, to drive cloud growth. 
  • High level of commercial business understanding and engagement at senior levels
  • Intelligence to identify key trends and insights and leverage them in driving decision making and execution
  • Ability to build relationships to grow business. Act as a partner to our customers, not just a vendor.
  • Strong collaboration skills and drive for impact and influence.
  • Experience of owning customer loyalty, culture and change management.
  • Experience in conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Be the point of contact for the technical lifecycle - Workshops, Escalations and communication 
  • Understands customers overall portfolio, IT and business priorities 
  • As part of Cloud Sales Framework, accountable for Cloud Engineering Technical Qualification criteria.  To drive consistent collaboration, enabling solution engineering & sales leadership to gain both commercial and technical insight into the deal cycle driving focus and investment on qualified opportunities
  • Responsible for a full adoption lifecycle, from project concept to usage and expansion within the customer - captured, tracked and executed via a Technical Account Plan.  Alignment with the account team and various stakeholders across the Oracle ecosystem – Development, Cloud Engineering, Customer Success support is a critical to the success of the role
  • Monitor the Customer Adoption Health – Workloads, Pipeline, Consumption and Outcomes 
  • Drives value realization along the engagement lifecycle and communicates value delivery in a structured manner. Help achieve measurable benefits and ensure success using Oracle Cloud
  • Ensures strong customer retention by ensuring timely renewal of existing customer contracts in partnership with the account teams 

Requirements – Technical

  • Experience driving technology transformations with large customers in the Financial Sector, Telco or conglomerates is a MUST
  • Track record of architecting production grade systems and solutions addressing complex real-world customer requirements from On-Premise systems to hyperscale cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, standards and methodologies (e.g. TOGAF, O-AA), ITIL, ITSM, Microservices, API Design and Security Frameworks
  • Strong background in moving enterprise Oracle workloads to the cloud – SOA, BPEL, Weblogic and other on-premise systems
  • Solid technical knowledge on Data Management and Big Data architectures. Experience on the Oracle Database is a must along with good exposure to other DBMS and NoSQL systems – Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis
  • Strong knowledge of different design patterns and architecture styles (REST, gRPC) – 
  • Design and develop standards for cloud adoption and building scale models for the CoE – Maturity Assessments, Migration Methodologies. Well Architected Frameworks, Operational Readiness Assessments, and such
  • Exposure to DevOps/DevSecOps, Containerization, Kubernetes expertise is highly desirable as is good exposure to IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems, Protocols and Tools

This role will initially report to the VP, JAPAC Cloud Engineering Center of Excellence (CE CoE)

This role is Open to candidates either in Singapore or Hong Kong. Role requires at-least 50% travel
