We have dedicated Development, Quality and Product Management teams spread across the Oracle HQ and India Development Centre, working together as a single team across a wide spectrum of technologies involved in areas such as user experience, enterprise/cloud integration, business rules and workflow processing, mobile CRM and social CRM.

Oracle India Development Center is looking for a highly motivated Application Engineer to staff the development team in Bangalore, India. The team in India develops high performance, scalable, web and database server components used by all Siebel Products. Teamwork and solid written and verbal English communication skills is of utmost importance, as this group works closely with Product Marketing and other Engineering teams in the India, USA and Canada.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will analyze and integrate external customer specifications. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture. Build new products and development tools. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to discuss changes to functionality.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation; displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures; Performs moderately complex problem solving which includes problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes.

Work with the Product Management group to identify product specifications Design product features, create high-level and detailed design documents, and participate in design reviews

 Qualification 

  • Up to 2 years of work experience in software product development
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent 

Skill Set

  • Experience in development using Object Oriented Patterns.
  • Experience in development using C++
  • Good to have exposure to Java
  • Good to have understanding of web development concepts and technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Understanding of Relational and NoSQL data stores
  • Exposure to Agile Development Methods such as scrum
  • Exposure to product release cycles, from concept to delivery
  • Exposure to Cloud technologies, Generative AI
  • Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD concepts and tools
  • Strong Communication and problem solving skills.
  • Good to have exposure to web debugging and performance testing software.

  • Very good knowledge required for programming skills
  • Must possess good problem solving, analytical skills
  • Should know the basics of Software Development Processes and Methodologies 
  • Should be a good team player

Analyze, design develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for commercial or end user applications. Writes code, completes programming and performs testing and debugging of applications. As a member of the software engineering division, you will perform high-level design based on provided external specifications. Specify, design and implement minor changes to existing software architecture. Build highly complex enhancements and resolve complex bugs. Build and execute unit tests and unit plans. Review integration and regression test plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering as necessary to discuss minor changes to product functionality and to ensure quality and consistency across specific products. Excellent team player member, providing direction and mentoring to others. B.Tech or B.E in Computer science or equivalent. MCA or MSc (in Math) can also be considered. Up to 2 years of software engineering or related experience.
