The role
As an experienced Data Scientist, your mandate is to optimize the core of financial services decisioning. We have a unique opportunity to design and implement a machine learning framework from the ground up. The candidate will be responsible for building AI/ML models for managing fraud, credit risk and driving a customer level profitability across all ONE product offerings. You will work closely with the Data, Product, and Risk team(s). This role is in the risk organization and reports to the Decision Sciences lead
This role is responsible for:
Taking machine learning programs through the lifecycle from conception to production to on-going monitoring and maintenance
Gathering data through model training / evaluation / productionalization.
Critically troubleshooting other analytic programs and results.
Assisting with feature store and library development for the analytic environment.
Creating documentation and automating reporting and model diagnostics using version control tools (Git)
Execute the roadmap for Risk data science projects and initiatives that align with our business goals and priorities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their modeling needs and requirements, and provide guidance and support on data-related matters.
Mentor junior members on the data science team on best practices and standards for data science methodologies, tools and frameworks

Education in machine learning, computer science, or other technical fields.
PhD / Master’s or 5+ years of comparable working experience. Domain knowledge in US based Fintech preferred
Experience building and deploying machine learning solutions using Python and Spark in a cloud
Stay abreast of the latest developments and trends in data science, fintech, and related domains, and identify new opportunities and challenges for data science innovation.

Leveling Philosophy
In order to thoughtfully scale the company and avoid downstream inequities, we’ve adopted a flat titling structure at One. Though we may occasionally post a role externally with a prefix such as “Senior” to reflect the external level of the position, we do not use prefixes in titles like that internally unless in a position which manages a team. Internal titles typically include your specific functional responsibility, such as engineering, product management or sales, and often include additional descriptors to ensure clarity of role and placement within our organization (i.e. “Engineer, Platform”, “Sales, Business Development” or “Manager, Talent”). Employees are paid commensurate with their experience and the internal level within One.
