About the Intern Program:

OCC is looking for interns who are hungry for the chance to learn more, humble enough to admit they don’t know all the answers, and smart enough to recognize the opportunity. The OCC Internship Program provides students with the real-world skills to successfully transition into a career in the financial services industry. As an intern, you will help lead projects that help shape the future of OCC. This person will apply their skill set and knowledge toward tackling designated projects. This is an exciting opportunity to have a true impact on the company by designing and implementing solutions for real challenges facing the business. Here’s what we’re looking for:

Projects and Responsibilities:

• Work on implementing new features and use cases for the Internal Developer Platform, and resolving any defects found

• Actively participating in Agile ceremonies (daily standup, refinement, planning, etc.)

• Working on user stories:

  • Writing programming code

  • Writing documentation

  • Designing implementation diagrams

  • Reviewing pull requests

  • Developing automated tests

  • Debugging and troubleshooting issues

  • Containerizing applications

  • Engaging stakeholders to gather requirements

  • Collaborating with other pods and teams

  • Demonstrating features to stakeholders and leadership

Candidate Qualifications:

• Desired major(s): Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Information Science, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Cyber Operations, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computational Physics

• Desired year in school: Undergraduate rising senior

• Technical experience desired: Python, Docker, Git, Linux

What knowledge and skills will the intern gain from this internship?

• Involved with the Developer Experience Pod, which focuses on helping engineers overcoming challenges and reducing their cognitive load

• Work with DevOps to devise ways to create self-service actions, as well as solving inefficiencies and gaps in the CI/CD process and automating repetitive activities for development teams

• Engage in the development of OCC’s Internal Developer Platform and the developers’ workstations
