The Infrastructure Solutions Manager is responsible for designing, delivering, and maintaining enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions within secure, on-premise banking datacenters. The role ensures platform stability, regulatory compliance, and architectural governance while supporting business initiatives with robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure designs. The position is also accountable for partnering with business and application teams to ensure smooth rollout of business projects into production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure Architecture & Standards
- Develop and maintain enterprise infrastructure architecture covering compute, storage, network, virtualization, and DR.
- Define and enforce architecture standards, security baselines, and hardening guidelines aligned with banking controls.
- Conduct architecture reviews and approve infrastructure components for business projects.
2. Solution Design & Delivery in On‑Prem Datacenters
- Lead end‑to‑end design for new infrastructure deployments, capacity expansions, and platform migrations.
- Produce solution design documents (SDD), integration diagrams, and impact assessments.
- Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, security, and compliance requirements for mission‑critical banking workloads.
3. Supporting Business Project Rollouts
- Collaborate with business units, application owners, and project managers to translate business requirements into infrastructure solutions.
- Participate in project committees, solution walkthroughs, and deployment planning sessions.
- Coordinate infrastructure readiness—including compute, storage, network, firewall, and middleware—to meet project timelines.
- Ensure end‑to‑end testing, including performance, resilience, and security validation before production rollout.
- Provide infrastructure support during go‑live, hypercare, and stabilization phases.
4. High Availability, Resilience & Disaster Recovery
- Design solutions aligned with strict RTO/RPO requirements for mission‑critical banking applications.
- Lead end‑to‑end Disaster Recovery (DR) drills including planning, coordination, execution, documentation, and reporting.
- Ensure all teams are aligned on drill objectives and scenarios across primary and secondary datacenters.
- Drive remediation and improvements identified during DR drills.
- Ensure adherence to HKMA and internal BCP/DR regulatory requirements.
5. Security, Audit & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure designs align with internal controls, cybersecurity standards, and HKMA requirements.
- Support risk assessments, penetration testing, and remediation planning.
- Ensure secure‑by‑design principles are embedded into all solutions.
6. Operations Support & Incident Participation
- Participate in major incident calls to provide infrastructure solution insights and impact assessment.
- Collaborate with L3/L4 teams during incident troubleshooting and recovery.
- Contribute to RCA discussions by providing architectural input (without leading RCA).
- Ensure lessons learned are incorporated into future solution designs.
7. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Manage vendor engagements, evaluate solutions, and participate in RFP processes.
- Ensure cost‑effective designs aligned with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to business and senior stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or architecture, preferably in banking.
Strong expertise in VMware, enterprise storage, network architecture, Windows/Linux servers, and DR technologies.
Experience supporting enterprise application rollouts or major business programs.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity and regulatory controls.
Experience with HKMA regulatory requirements.
Certifications such as VMware VCP, CCNP/CCIE, RHCE, ITIL, or cloud architect certifications.
Exposure to SDN, container platforms, or hybrid cloud strategy.
