Senior Machine Learning Engineer (E3)

What We Do

The Machine Learning and Robotics team in Ocado Sofia works on products that push the boundaries of what can be achieved using machine learning and reinforcement learning in the computer vision and robotics domains.

Our robot control system not only behaves in a human-like way but is also one of the fastest and most reliable in the world. We are looking for bright individuals who want to take part in our journey to scale to thousands of robot stations and expand our learning technology for even better dexterity, efficiency and other exciting applications.

What You'll Be Doing

• Work on novel projects that involve fast system prototyping and experimentation using computer vision, robotics systems, machine learning and large-scale compute infrastructure.
• Train state-of-the-art deep neural networks for prediction and reinforcement learning and deploy them in a production environment.
• Explore latest hardware accelerators, deep learning frameworks and technologies, robots, VR and teleoperation devices.

What You Need

• Degree (PhD, MS, BS) in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Applied Math or relevant majors.
• Excellent knowledge of theory and practice of machine learning, especially using deep learning models and large-scale datasets.
• Solid understanding of CS fundamentals and demonstrated ability to write high-quality code in Python.
• Experience running and monitoring Machine learning models and systems in production.
• Experience with modern MLOps and experimentation management frameworks - e.g. MLflow, Kubeflow, Airflow, etc.
• 5+ years of work experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Data scientist or related or strong internship record from internationally recognized companies.
• Excellent communication skills and strong at fostering work relationships.

What Will Help You Further

• Knowledge and interest in application areas such robotics.
• Experience with big data and distributed computing technologies (e.g. BigQuery, Spark, etc.).
• Experience using Kubernetes, Docker and Cloud computing platforms (GCP, AWS).
