Job Summary

The Technology Operations business function provides support and maintenance of the Ocado Smart Platform (OSP) solution wherever it is deployed around the world. 

This role is to lead the onsite Engineering Operations teams maintaining and repairing the Ocado OSP automated MHE (Material Handling Equipment) across the client CFCs.

The role will manage the onsite teams safely, efficiently and effectively to ensure the Ocado MHE solution is available and performs as required to meet KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and the Client business objectives. It will also ensure engineering standard processes and ways of working are adhered to and audit findings are addressed.

A key part of the role will be to manage the relationship and engagement with the Client Operations leadership to ensure there is a regular and appropriate flow of information and governance.

Accountabilities

  • Leading engaged and high performing Eng Ops teams in accordance to Ocado values and behaviours
  • Alignment and coordination with Central Engineering for Eng Ops establishment and recruitment for new sites
  • Receiving and taking ownership of new sites from Central Engineering in accordance with the blueprint handover criteria
  • Managing the recruitment,onboarding and training strategy for all live sites
  • Ensuring Eng Ops teams are aware of and adhere to all applicable Health and Safety regulations
  • Leading the maintenance and repair of Ocado assets to safeguard solution availability and productivity
  • Management of onsite MHE assets and spare parts
  • Managing the relationship with Client Operations senior leadership to maintain Client satisfaction
  • Ensuring Eng Ops teams manage the governance and relationship with onsite Client Operations teams to support Client decision making and satisfaction
  • Managing staff availability and shift rotas to align with Client and Ocado business needs
  • Managing Eng Ops performance against defined KPIs and SLAs
  • Leading Eng Ops performance improvement initiatives and corrective action plans
  • Coordinating feedback to Central Engineering on processes, maintenance schedules and improvement proposals
  • Defining and implementing strategies for staff performance management
