About the role:

This role will involve overseeing logistics projects from inception to completion. 

You will need to use your experience (either Ocado logistics expertise or project management knowledge) to manage resources effectively to achieve the specific project outcomes, within a clearly defined timeframe, budget and standards. You’ll work with multiple, different areas of Ocado Logistics and with our retail partners, bringing everyone together to ensure projects are successfully delivered to best practice project management principles and governance

You will be:

In this role, you will oversee all phases of the project from start to finish, ensuring comprehensive and top-quality documentation is maintained. This will allow you to consistently monitor performance in relation to budget and schedule, as well as manage risks, issues, and key decisions.

  • You will develop the business case for change, including the viability of the solution, implementation considerations and an implementation roadmap. 
  • You will be responsible for the budget through to completion and must be confident challenging as necessary to ensure expenditure is justified and business cases are robust.
  • You will be managing multifaceted projects and must keep abreast of related projects within a program or across the department to manage dependencies.
  • In order to ensure project success you will also need to proactively manage risks, issues and changes in a timely manner, creating mitigation plans and and taking corrective action as required to meet objectives. 
  • You will need to prioritise multiple project requirements and make decisions to control the project scope, quality, schedule, costs and resources to keep in line with the project objectives. You should champion continuous improvement and proactively document lessons learned. 
  • You must ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in all logistics activities.
  • It is critical that you build excellent working relationships and use strong communication skills to manage and influence a large number of senior internal and external stakeholders towards a common vision or goal and keep senior management and clients up to date on project progress.  Ultimately, you will contribute to fostering the company culture and Ocado Logistics values.

About you:

  • Continuous improvement focused: Committed to learning and improving, seeks ways to optimise project processes and deliver more value.
  • Logistics understanding: Previous experience or strong knowledge of logistics processes like transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution is a plus
