You will be a part of NVIDIA GeForce NOW cloud team that allows users to play high-quality PC games on various devices, without the need for a dedicated gaming PC or console. NVIDIA's GeForce NOW service is built on top of our GPU technology, including our proprietary GPU architectures and software optimizations allowing efficient and high-quality gaming experience even at high resolutions. 

As an intern on the GeForce NOW team, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the definition of the next generation cloud platform. You will be at the forefront of redefining the world of computer graphics and accelerated computing by harnessing the unlimited potential of AI. 

Preferable start date: end of January 2025 

What you'll be doing: 

  • Define the architecture of next-generation NVIDIA GeForce NOW cloud platform by providing input on performance, power, and cost considerations. 

  • Perform comprehensive performance and power analysis of various microarchitecture features in current and future generation GPUs and CPUs. 

  • Characterize and optimize the performance of hot kernels ensuring efficient execution and exceptional user experience. 

  • Design and build models and tools for analyzing workload sensitivity, assisting in identifying the best configurations for our technologies. 

  • Present findings and recommendations to multi-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and executives. 

  • Continuously learn and develop skills in performance analysis, optimizations, platform architecture and cloud computing. 

  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in CPU, GPU, DRAM and storage technologies and provide recommendations for future improvements. 

  • Collaborate with a team of highly skilled engineers, architects, and researchers, working together to successfully implement world-class solutions. 

  • Your work will directly impact the development of sophisticated computing systems and redefine the limits of what is possible. 

What we need to see: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in a relevant field (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, AI), or equivalent experience. 

  • Passion for CPU/GPU performance, with interest in identifying and analyzing microarchitecture bottlenecks. 

  • Desire to explore hardware power and performance analysis and understand microarchitecture trade-offs. 

  • Eagerness to learn about optimizing software performance, particularly on cloud platforms or large-scale systems. 

  • Interest in performance analysis techniques like code instrumentation, sampling, and roofline analysis. 

  • Excited to develop performance models or tools for workload sensitivity analysis. 

  • Enthusiasm for programming in C, C++, Python, and scripting languages, with a solid foundation in software development. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with curiosity to explore new areas and think creatively. 

  • Ability to analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop insights. 

  • Clear communicator, eager to present technical ideas to various audiences.
