Location: US, CA, Santa Clara

Time Type: Full time

Job Description

NVIDIA has been transforming computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing for more than 25 years. It’s a unique legacy of innovation that’s fueled by great technology—and amazing people. Today, we’re tapping into the unlimited potential of AI to define the next era of computing. An era in which our GPU acts as the brains of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can understand the world. Doing what’s never been done before takes vision, innovation, and the world’s best talent. As an NVIDIAN, you’ll be immersed in an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone is inspired to do their best work. Come join the team and see how you can make a lasting impact on the world!

Are you ready to develop the future of brand new AI computing? Join NVIDIA's Network Automation & Intelligence Platforms team as a Network Software Engineer, Automation & Intelligence. Here, you’ll have the outstanding opportunity to build and operate innovative network automation systems across corporate offices, campuses, HPC data centers, contract manufacturing sites, and labs. Using NVIDIA's extensive global infrastructure, you will help us push the boundaries of what’s possible with AI and network automation!

What you'll be doing:

  • Build and deploy: Design and implement network automation for new builds and bring-ups, from zero-touch provisioning and config generation to validation and handoff to operations.
  • Operate in production: Support live networks with automated change execution, health checks, drift detection, and incident triage. Find and fix issues before they affect service levels.
  • Own the platform stack: Contribute to the source of truth, CI/CD pipelines, orchestration, and observability integrations that automation depends on.
  • Integrate AI thoughtfully: Build LLM- and agent-based network tooling that moves from read-only investigation to autonomous, self-validating change execution as each change class proves safe, with rollback, scoped boundaries, and full audit trails.
  • Work across teams: Partner with network, compute, storage, and facilities teams to turn operational difficulties into reliable, reusable software.
  • Scale automation across the team: Document, mentor, and enable other engineers to contribute to automation beyond the core team.

What we need to see:

  • MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in network engineering or network software, with experience in both build and production operations.
  • Hands-on network automation experience, such as Python, Ansible, REST/gNMI/NETCONF APIs, and Git-based workflows.
  • Solid grounding in routing, switching, and network architecture, including BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, and MLAG.
  • Experience with multi-vendor environments (Arista, Cisco, Cumulus/NVIDIA, Palo Alto, and similar).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a history of managing complex projects from start to finish.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience implementing LLM or agent-based tooling in operations with robust oversight, including read-only restrictions, approval processes, and audit logs. Working knowledge of agent frameworks, MCP, RAG, and applying ML to telemetry or capacity analysis.
  • Familiarity with incident management and change platforms (BigPanda, ) and source-of-truth tooling (Nautobot, NetBox).
  • Background in cybersecurity and network security practices.
  • Experience with large-scale GPU/AI fabrics, InfiniBand, RoCE, or other high-performance networks.
  • Clear communication skills and a focus on maintaining an inclusive, collaborative team culture.
