Senior VoIP / Cisco Collaboration Engineer

Location: 100% remote, seeking candidates located in Mexico or Latin America
Contract Length: 1 year, with potential extension.
Contract Rate: $25–$30 per hour in USD. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, technical expertise, location, engagement model, and overall fit for the position.

NTT DATA is seeking a driven Senior VoIP / Cisco Collaboration Engineer to serve as a Subject Matter Expert for enterprise VoIP communications in a Cisco-based environment. The successful candidate will support a major transformation of the client’s voice infrastructure, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager consolidation and migration to version 12.5, while providing Level 3 support within a multi-tier networking organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert for enterprise VoIP and Cisco collaboration technologies.
• Contribute to VoIP transformation initiatives, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager consolidation and migration to version 12.5.
• Provide Level 3 technical support for complex voice and networking incidents in a multi-tier support environment.
• Design, administer, maintain, and troubleshoot VoIP infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and service continuity.
• Collaborate with networking, infrastructure, security, service management, and client stakeholders to resolve technical issues and deliver project objectives.
• Manage client expectations, communicate risks and progress clearly, and work independently with limited supervision.
• Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, operational procedures, incident records, and implementation plans.

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of professional experience supporting and managing enterprise VoIP environments.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and Cisco-based voice infrastructure.
• Experience with VoIP infrastructure design, administration, migration, troubleshooting, and Level 3 support.
• Solid knowledge of IP networking fundamentals, including switching, routing, firewalls, and Quality of Service for voice traffic.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritise effectively, and manage client expectations in a remote environment.
• Experience working with ticketing or IT service management systems.
• Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to lead technical discussions, explain incidents and solutions, and produce clear technical documentation.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager consolidation, upgrades, or migrations, particularly version 12.5.
• Knowledge of SIP, voice gateways, dial plans, Cisco CUBE, session border controllers, and voice traffic analysis.
• Experience supporting large enterprise or utility environments.
• CCNP certification or advanced Cisco collaboration expertise.

• CCNA certification preferred.
• CCNP certification highly preferred.

Required Equipment: This role requires the use of a personal laptop. Candidates must be comfortable with company security software and device management tools being installed on their laptop as part of the onboarding process and for the duration of the engagement.
