This position is located in Linthicum, MD.
This IPT Lead will be required to lead an engineering team working to transition designs to production for a very important sector priority program with many time-critical elements and high management visibility. They will interface with personnel in the Factory Test Cells, Engineering & Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance. In addition, they will brief internal and potentially external customer leadership on progress.
The selected candidate will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The selected candidate is expected to be self-motivated, highly organized, detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
These roles are contingent upon candidates having a current Active Government Secret clearance.
These roles are contingent upon Program Award.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or STEM-related degree, with 12 years of industry experience, or master’s degree and 10 years of industry experience. An additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
- Active Secret clearance required to start.
- 1-year minimum experience with hardware design and/or hardware integration & test and with moving hardware through a factory production and/or factory test environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in Control Account Manager (CAM) activities and the Earned Value Management system (EVMS)
- Fluency with developing and executing project schedules
- Experience reporting project status to program, functional management and/or customers
- Demonstrated leadership skills with 1.5 years minimum experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, program manager or other leadership position leading engineers supporting a program or business function
- Available full-time onsite at the Northrop Grumman BWI facility in Maryland during first shift
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to plan, execute and lead a hardware team to meet cost, schedule and technical performance
- Leadership of multi‑site or multi‑sector Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
- Experience with Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., Cameo, MagicDraw, IBM Rational DOORS)
- Experience supporting Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and proposals
- Experience with Receiver / Exciter or Antenna Subsystem hardware through design or integration and test, and/or general RF Integration and test for hardware
- Experience identifying, quantifying and managing risks/opportunities
- Experience working with Global Supply Chain and Manufacturing Material Processing
- Experience with the Root Cause Correction Action (RCCA) process
- Experience managing products in the critical path of a program
- Experience with Integration and testing at the Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) or Line Replaceable Module (LRM) levels
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus
- Active and current Top Secret government clearance a plus
