Position Summary:
This individual would be responsible for ensuring climatic, vibration and shock tests are conducted and documented properly and to assist and guide a team of technicians in such work. This role is to support product development, formal qualification and failure investigations, while also being involved in the development of new techniques to improve device and testing effectiveness and reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure climatic/vibration tests are executed to customer specifications.
- Maintain test data integrity, evaluate results and prepare and review test reports to meet customer requirements, providing interim data and completed reports in a timely manner.
- Define, lead and run tests using vibration, shock and climatic test facilities.
- Provide technical guidance to technicians as needed.
- Develop lab capabilities to support new technologies and methods.
- Support the development of local work instructions.
- Provide scheduling assistance for equipment and personnel.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Lead / Contribute towards continuous improvement activities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a STEM field & 8 years of related test experience, OR a masters degree in a STEM field & 6 years of related test experience
- Mechanical and Thermal Engineering experience
- Demonstrated understanding for the safe and correct way to stimulate test assets with vibration, shock, climatic and temperature profiles.
- Experience with mechanical (vibration and shock) and climatic testing, including derivation of control strategies, function of climatic chambers and equipment, vibration test controllers and data acquisition systems.
- Effective at working in teams with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain & maintain a DoD security clearance.

- Current & active DoD security clearance
