Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Sector is seeking a Principal Database Analyst to join our team of qualified individuals located at Ellsworth AFB, SD.

Please note that this opportunity is contingent on program funding. Start dates are determined after funding confirmation.


Essential Functions

  • Implements and maintain smooth operation and physical design of databases.
  • Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases.
  • Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery, transaction log recovery, and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.
  • Maintains security and integrity controls.
  • Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
  • Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Considered expert in field within the organization.
  • Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform complex tasks.
  • Able to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.
  • Develop solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation.
  • Ensures solutions are consistent with organization objectives.

 

Basic Qualifications for Principal Database Analyst

  • Must have Must have a High School diploma/GED and 9 years of relevant Database Administrator/Analyst experience; or an Associate’s Degree and 7 years of relevant Database Administrator/Analyst experience; or a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of Database Administrator/Analyst experience; or a Master’s Degree and 3 years of Database Administrator/Analyst experience.
  • Your ability to Obtain and/or Transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
  • Current CompTIA Security Plus (or higher) certification.
  • Experience designing and maintaining complex relational databases.
  • Experience developing and scripting raw data using SQL or other query languages.
  • Experience generating visual reports in tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Experience with backups of large databases and transaction logs.
  • Experience with STIG and Gov database security controls.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with remote cloud architecture.
  • Experience working in an Air Force flightline environment.
  • Experience working with Air Force flight communications systems.
  • Active SECRET or TOP SECRET clearance.
  • Active Specific Special Access Program access.

Primary Level Salary Range: $45,800.00 - $76,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
