Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking an Electromechanical Engineer - Level 2 to join the Vehicle Engineering Directorate within Western Region Engineering. This position is located onsite in Redondo Beach, CA.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Perform Electromechanical engineering on multiple projects through all phases of development and manufacturing
- Develop technical specifications, conceptual designs, trade studies, detail designs, procedures, assembly, testing, and reports
- Assist with technical data packages including fabrication, source control, and assembly drawings in accordance with internal drawing standards
- Perform engineering analysis to validate design solutions with respect to technical performance, environmental durability, manufacturability, schedule and cost
- Support the on-time execution of development programs by proactively mitigating risks and pursuing opportunities
- Assist with internal design reviews, provide, and incorporate feedback from reviewers and management
- Employ strong interpersonal and communication skills while contributing to an integrated product team
- Demonstrate accountability to obtain results and contribute to organizational objectives
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 2 years of relevant experience or Master’s degree in STEM discipline
- Must have active SCI access at the time of application or an active Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access within a reasonable period, as determined by the company, prior to the start date
- Experience with mechanisms design, Electromechanical or opto-mechanical
- Experience with Creo, SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA V5/3DExp industry CAD software
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related STEM technical discipline
- Experience with the design, development, analysis, and verification of moving mechanical assemblies (e.g. mechanisms or electro-mechanical products) for space applications
- Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T)
- Experience working on Special Access Programs
- Active U.S. Government TS/SCI clearance
