Job Description: Associate, Java Full Stack Engineer & Support

We are looking for an individual with a passion for growing skills as well as solving complex and challenging problems. The person will be part of Shared Services Global Technology Group and will be responsible for Troubleshooting Production issues and providing code fixes, handling Client Queries & communications, Automate repetitive activities to increase efficiencies, collaborating with business stakeholders and writing quality, accurate, testable code along with the right architecture, and deployments of Technical changes. He will work with a geographically dispersed, agile team to effectively translate requirements into solutions and seamlessly interface with business partners and technical staff.

Major Duties

  • Contributing in all phases of the development lifecycle including Production Support
  • Implementing and maintaining Java applications with Oracle Backend that are often high-volume and low-latency, required for mission-critical systems
  • Writing well-designed, efficient, and testable code
  • Conducting software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging
  • Ensuring designs comply with specifications
  • Understand, define, develop, test, deploy and support change requests
  • Preparing and producing releases of software components
  • Support continuous improvement
  • Interact with project and application stakeholders.
  • Coordinate development activities with other teams.
  • Provide clear development progress or any roadblocks in Scrum calls
  • Ensure software is developed in alignment with Bank standards, best practices and performance requirements.
  • Implement opportunities to improve production stability and automate manual tasks
  • Investigating, diagnosing, and solving application issues.
  • Build solutions to fix production issues and participate in ongoing software maintenance activities including DR’s ( Disaster recovery)
  • Work with application, infrastructure, messaging and data teams to identify and resolve support issues.
  • Attend on-call after office hours including weekend to support High and Critical production issues.
  • Monitor and attend to all alerts and escalate production issues as needed to relevant Stakeholders
  • Problem resolution in an analytical and logical manner, to troubleshoot root cause and resolve production incidents.
  • Work with the team to resolve problems, improve production reliability, stability, and availability.
  • Follow the ITIL processes of Incident, Problem & Change Management.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or higher as well as related field of study
  • 4+ years of professional experience in software development
  • Good understanding of Object Oriented technology and standard Java development frameworks, including OOD and OOP skills.
  • Experience in using IDEs like Eclipse 3.x, IntelliJ IDEA
  • Experience in front-end and back-end software development in the Java environment and able to go into code to investigate and fix issues
    • Hands on exposure to Java,
    • Understanding of Modern Spring Frameworks (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Services, Spring Security, etc.), and REST API Development
    • Understanding of UI Development skills using React JS, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Working knowledge of SQL(Preferably Oracle, MSSQL).
  • Experience  of troubleshooting common database issues.
  • Good understanding of Unix commands and Scripting.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Financial Domain and Trade Life Cycle
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) experience using Bamboo or any other CI/CD tool ( Preferrable Azure DevOps)
  • Good understanding of Build tools like MAVEN, Gradle and SCM tools like GIT.
  • Basic understanding of Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Experience of Utilizing technological skills to automate repetitive tasks
  • Knowledge of DB Performance Tunning
  • Basic understanding of Messaging like KAFKA, RabbitMQ, Solace.
  • Understanding Agile techniques preferred
  • Administer the automated job scheduling system, Control-M.
  • Knowledge of Monitoring tools such as Dynatrace
  • Experience in incident management, understanding of ticket workflows and use of escalation.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud.
  • Good to have NoSQL knowledge.
  • Good understanding of Change Management process and tools
  • Experience with ServiceNow is beneficial.
