Join Nitro's Engineering Team 

The Engineering Team at Nitro is responsible for building high-performance, scalable solutions that drive our product innovation. We are now looking for a Software Engineer Intern (Scala) to support our team in developing and optimising software solutions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our engineers and cross-functional teams to contribute to the design, development, and improvement of key systems. 

What you’ll do: 

• Assist in developing and optimising cloud-deployed Scala applications. 

• Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams to build and improve features. 

• Help debug, test, and ensure the performance of existing software solutions. 

• Contribute to code reviews, ensuring best practices and clean, maintainable code. 

• Support the development of new functionalities based on product requirements. 

What we’re looking for: 

• Strong interest in bringing product features to life through software engineering. 

• Familiarity with the JVM and an object-oriented programming language such as Java. 

• Knowledge of Scala is desired but not required. 

• A basic knowledge of functional programming concepts  

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 

• Ability to work well in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment. 

• Familiarity with version control systems (for example: Git). 

• Basic knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and system design principles.
