Job Description

Australia's leading broadcast video on demand platform 9Now offers a destination for consumers around Australia to catch up on their favourite programs anywhere, anytime, on the device of their choosing.

We have a vacancy in our North Sydney office for a Software Engineer with 9Now.

The 9Now Web team is a primarily front-end agile software and streaming development team building the "Future of Television". Our core responsibility is building, testing, securing and maintaining 9now.com.au. We're at the forefront of 9Now’s strategy, creating a responsive, performant, accessible user experiences for viewing 9Now content in mobile, tablet and desktop browsers.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional teams to plan, design, develop and test solutions.
• Work across our web-based tech stack (Typescript and JavaScript), particularly utilising React (including Next.js, Styled Components, Jotai state management, Jest and Testing Library React, Playwright, hosted in Docker on AWS infrastructure).
• Develop our streaming video stack and its accompanying analytics and observability.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an Software Engineer position 
• Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript. React JS is a bonus (but not required)
• Interested in developing and practising a positive, collaborative culture
• Patience and understanding when working with other engineers
• Passionate about learning and continuous self improvement
