Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Proxy Network

Description

Our proxy network is the beating heart of the platform - residential, ISP, mobile, and datacenter proxies serving billions of requests, with rotation, geo-targeting, and IP reputation management underneath every one of them. We're looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to go deep into that layer: build and own core proxy and networking infrastructure, not configure someone else's.

You bring the same range as our core infrastructure engineers - proxies and networking, browser internals, and cloud-native systems (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS) - with the depth to design and debug at every layer of the stack, plus a genuine specialization in networking and proxy systems.

Responsibilities

• Build core proxy infrastructure - reverse proxies, IP rotation, session management, intelligent routing.
• Own IP pool health - reputation scoring, monitoring, blacklist recovery - across residential, mobile, datacenter, and ISP proxies.
• Implement geo-targeting at country, city, and ASN level.
• Work at the protocol level (TCP/UDP, sockets, HTTP/HTTPS/SOCKS5, HTTP/2/3) and the Linux networking stack underneath.
• Build monitoring, health checks, failover, and bandwidth/usage metering for the proxy fleet.
• Deploy and scale on cloud-native infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform).
• Use AI-assisted development tools daily.

Requirements

• 8+ years of engineering experience.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with proxy infrastructure.
• Deep, hands-on networking expertise - TCP/UDP, sockets, HTTP/HTTPS/SOCKS5, HTTP/2/3, DNS - at the protocol level, not the surface level.
• Proven experience building (not just configuring or integrating) proxy or networking infrastructure - reverse proxies, rotation systems, IP reputation and quality management.
• Working knowledge of proxy types - residential, ISP, mobile, datacenter - their characteristics, trade-offs, and failure modes.
• Comfortable in the Linux networking stack: iptables, routing tables, network namespaces, connection tuning.
• Experience with high-throughput, low-latency, high-scale systems, and the debugging skills to chase a problem down to a packet trace when needed.
• Solid cloud infrastructure skills - Kubernetes, Docker, and IaC (Terraform) - to ship and operate what you build.
• A genuine AI-native mindset - daily, expert use of AI-assisted development tools to move faster without sacrificing correctness.
• Strong software engineering ability in Node.js, Rust, Go, or Python - you design and build production microservices, not just scripts and runbooks.
• Experience with data infrastructure at scale - high-throughput pipelines and storage (nice to have).
