Our NielsenIQ Technology teams are working on our new “Discover” platform, a unified, global, open data ecosystem powered by Microsoft Azure. Our clients worldwide rely on NielsenIQ’s data and insights to innovate and grow.

As a Principal Engineer, you’ll be part of a team of smart, highly skilled technologists who are passionate about learning and prototyping cutting-edge technologies. Our platform is based on Angular, JAVA, Spring Boot, Mongo, Postgres, and Snowflake, and we continue to adopt the best of breed in cloud-native, low-latency technologies. We value CI/CD in everything that we develop. Our team is co-located and agile, with central technology hubs in Chicago, Madrid, Toronto, and Chennai & Pune

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional technical teams in the design, development and delivery of quality software applications
  • Write complex, clean and maintainable code to develop scalable user-friendly Front-end applications, services and API
  • Design and architect frontend or full-stack solutions
  • Develop reusable UI components that can serve the needs of multiple applications
  • Drive proof of concepts to validate solution options
  • Ensure the maintainability and quality of code
  • Hands-on management of a team/teams of developers

Qualifications

Must Have:

  • Angular Development: Proficient in Angular framework, preferably with hands-on experience in recent versions such as Angular 14, 15, 16, 17, etc., demonstrating expertise in building dynamic and responsive web applications.
  • TypeScript & JavaScript: Strong command over TypeScript and JavaScript languages, with the ability to write clean, modular, and efficient code, leveraging advanced features and concepts to enhance application functionality.
  • HTML: Expertise in HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) for creating structured and semantic web content, ensuring compatibility across different browsers and devices.
  • CSS/SCSS: Proficient in CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) and SCSS (Sassy CSS) for styling web applications, with a focus on responsive design, layout management, and maintaining code scalability and reusability.
  • Unit Testing with Karma & Jasmine: Extensive experience in writing and executing unit test cases using Karma test runner and Jasmine testing framework, ensuring code reliability, functionality, and test coverage.
  • Version Control with GitHub: Proficient in version control using GitHub, including repository management, branching strategies, pull requests, and collaboration features, to facilitate efficient code management and team collaboration.
  • Agile Project Management with JIRA: Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies and tools, particularly JIRA, for managing project workflows, sprint planning, task tracking, and facilitating communication and collaboration within Agile teams.
  • UX Design Understanding with Figma: Familiarity with Figma design tool for understanding and interpreting UX/UI designs, collaborating with designers, and implementing design specifications into the development process to ensure consistency and alignment with user experience goals
