So, what’s the role all about?

 

The Cloud Network Security Engineer at Nice is responsible for managing and securing our cloud networks, both public and private. They assess new and existing technologies, collaborate with different teams, and ensure best practices are followed. They work extensively with AWS, Azure, GCP, and our private cloud systems.

In addition to strong cloud technology skills, they're experts in networking, including advanced routing, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and more. They create detailed design plans and provide guidance to team members. When issues arise, they're the ones to resolve them.

Overall, they're instrumental in keeping our cloud networks running smoothly and securely.

How will you make an impact?

  • Support and maintain various Network Security platforms and processes, such as Next Generation Firewalls, SIEM, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and Cloud Security Technologies.
  • Collaborate with senior team members and peer teams to evaluate the overall security status of the network environment, including security event detection, analysis, and response.
  • Aid in the health, performance enhancement, stabilization, and fine-tuning of all network security infrastructure.
  • Evaluate current security technologies to identify opportunities for enhancing network protection controls.
  • Ensure that security solutions, policies, and procedures effectively address and respond to threats to our data and network infrastructure. Offer recommendations and implement technical support processes, metrics, and SLAs.
  • Review and address reports related to network security and compliance, ensuring alignment with audit requirements such as Fedramp, SOC2, etc.
  • Support compliance with corporate Governance, Security-Risk, and Audit policies, procedures, and best practices. Provide assistance to senior team members on company security initiatives and serve as a focal point for security-related matters. Additionally, assist in the development of technical documentation, policies, and procedures for the use and support of network security applications.

Keep in mind that this role might entail overtime, and working during non-traditional hours like nights, early mornings, and weekends. Additionally, being on-call may be required.

 

Have you got what it takes?

  • 5+ years of experience in internetworking environments.
  • Proficiency in Cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, GCP.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
  • Scripting expertise with JSON/YAML for CloudFormation.
  • Expertise with Palo Alto and F5 load balancers.
  • Advanced skills in network switching, routing, and networking technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.).
  • Profound understanding of internetworking tools and technologies, including firewalls, DNS, and access-control lists.
  • Experience with authentication services (TACACS+, RADIUS, RSA SecurID), MPLS environments, IPv6, SIP, and Management Systems/SNMP. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.

 

You will have an advantage if you also have: 

 

  • Experience in Layer-4 through Layer-7 switching environments
  • Experience with hardware load balancing – ServerIron/ADX, GSLB, SSL termination
  • Network scripting languages
  • Experience with Terraform
